FUNDRAISING MATERIALS
When an organization is planning an ambitious fundraising campaign, it will often launch it with a suite of high-impact print collateral. Here are a few of those projects I've lead or contributed to. Client: Bishop O'Dowd High School Project: Capital campaign case statement My work: I was hired by O'Dowd to creative-direct and write a 12-page fund-raising case statement for its upcoming Car Unum: One Heart in Community capital campaign. I assembled a team to execute this high-end print piece and wrote all the copy. Clients: California Academy of Sciences; Peterson, Skolnick & Dodge Project: Suite of fundraising collateral pieces My work: I was a regular writer for the California Academy of Sciences’ capital campaign, which raised $460 million for its new museum. The suite of materials included a high-end casebook; a fold-out follow-up pamphlet for telefundraising calls; a quarterly, tabloid-style newsletter; and a bimonthly magazine for members. As with most of the Academy’s collateral, the tone was lively, playful, and family-oriented. |

Clients: Cedars-Sinai Medical Center; Peterson, Skolnick & Dodge Project: $350-million endowment campaign, Discovering for Life My work: I partnered with another writer to produce the text for this 44-page casebook aimed at major donors. The publication told the story on several levels: past and potential research achievements; details on each specific need by disease; statements by researchers and physicians; and personal comments by affected patients. |
